Everyone is cordially invited to attend the inaugural lecture of Hannes Mühleisen (CWI and Radboud University), entitled 'The Ancient Art of Data Management'.

The next edition of our DSDSD series, introducing three speakers who will deliver the upcoming talks. We are going to have our regular monthly session on Friday, July 7th 2023 at 3:30pm (2 talks), plus one additional session on Thursday, 6th July at 11am (1 talk). The seminar will be held via Zoom.

In the wake of the Conference on Innovative Data Systems Research (CIDR), several of its high-profile participants will speak at a special public meetup ADS Meets CIDR.

Just before the Conference on Innovative Data Systems Research (CIDR) starts in The Mövenpick Hotel in Amsterdam, we will hold a memorial meeting for Martin Kersten, the founder of the Database Architectures research group at CWI, who regrettably died in 2022. The memorial meeting is public: you do not have to be registered at the conference to participate.

The Conference on Innovative Data Systems Research (CIDR) is a systems-oriented conference, complementary in its mission to the mainstream database conferences like SIGMOD and VLDB, emphasizing the systems architecture perspective. CIDR was run every two years starting 2003, becoming the premier conference for practical data systems work. From 2020 on, the conference is organized every year, alternating between Amsterdam and the USA. The venue of the conference is the Mövenpick hotel on the waterfront of the Amsterdam city center.
