Kick-off conference International research collaboration Inria-CWI

Inria and CWI are hosting a conference on 13 and 14 September 2023 in Amsterdam to mark the start of their strengthened research collaboration.

During this event, recent scientific developments in Human interaction, Energy, Cryptography, Digital Health, Quantum Computing, Machine Learning and Software Engineering will be discussed and opportunities for new research collaborations, also together with industrial partners, will be explored.

CWI and Inria have a long history of cooperation and scientific dialogue, being the two national institutes on computer science and mathematics in the Netherlands and France. The two institutes have recently committed to strengthen their collaboration significantly and formalize their partnership by signing a new strategic agreement, ceremonially emphasized by the presence of the Dutch and French ministers of Science.

This enhanced collaboration will include a joint research and innovation program to strengthen networking, external partnership opportunities and funding. Scientific cooperation will be strengthened through the creation of joint projects and research teams in various areas. The new and synergetic joint research teams answer to the increasing needs of scientific, societal, and industrial challenges.

During this event, keynote presentations will highlight important developments in our joint science and technology domains and a round table will address significant societal and industrial challenges, followed by a networking opportunity with drinks (13 September). Also, research topics will be further discussed and planned between Inria and CWI (14 September), with presentations and meetings for new joint research initiatives.

The conference on 13 September is open to researchers of Inria and CWI, as well as to the scientific and industrial partners of Inria and CWI. The meetings on 14 September are meant for members of the Inria research teams (“équipe projets”) and of CWI.
