Inaugural lecture Roeland Merks at Leiden University

On 27 February, CWI researcher Roeland Merks will give his inaugural lecture titled 'Het molecuul, de cellen en het weefsel: de wiskunde van groei en vorm in tijden van Big Data' as full professor Professor Multiscale Mathematical Biology at the Mathematical Institue of Leiden University. Roeland Merks is senior researcher mathematical biology in CWI's Life Sciences group. In February 2014, he was appointed full professor at Leiden University for one day per week.

In his lecture, Merks will focus on the biological systems of the human body, and how these building blocks work together to form a human body. An interview with Merks on his research and inaugural lecture was published earlier this week on the Leiden University website (in Dutch) The lecture will start at 16h at the Academiegebouw of the University of Leiden.
