The EU LinkedTV project, in which CWI is participating, had a successful presentation on the future of television in its booth during the large IBC2014 conference in the RAI, from 11-16 September 2014. Over 55,000 people attended the meeting and the exhibition. The LinkedTV booth with demos was located in the 'Future Zone' of the conference, which was organized by The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET).

In a comfortable living room atmosphere, project members from, for instance, CWI, Fraunhofer, Sound and Vision and Noterik, presented a LinkedTV News and a LinkedTV Culture TV show demonstrating their latest research and development results. Visitors could make themselves comfortable on a sofa and discover new information about the programme they were watching, directly interacting with the TV with their second screen in the environment of the broadcaster. The demos showed more background information on the news and topics of interest in the world of art and antiques.

The research at CWI falls under the Information theme and investigates user requirements for enriching the content of informative programs, such as the news or programs about cultural artefacts.
