What does the audience feel?

What?

Researchers at Centrum Wiskunde & Informatica (CWI) are running an experiment with wearable sensors at the Goethe-Institut Amsterdam.

The goal is to understand if sensor technology can be used to measure audience engagement during a jazz concert.

When?

The experiment will run during a concert of the jazz series at the Goethe-Institut Amsterdam on April 29th 2016, 20h.

More information about the concert here.

How?

Participants to the experiment get a free entrance to the concert and a welcome drink. We ask you to fill in a short questionnaire before and after the performance, to record how you experienced the concert. During the performance, we measure your reactions using a biometric sensor. The whole concert will be video recorded.

The privacy of the participants will be guaranteed at all times. The data that we record will not be made public, and will exclusively be shared with researchers who have signed a confidentiality agreement. Faces will be anonymised in images which are used as an illustration in scientific publications.

The video material of the concert might be published by the CWI, artists and/or the Goethe-Institut in order to document the jazz concert.

Registration

Once registered, you will get free entrance to the concert and a welcome drink, by identifying yourself at the ticket counter on the event venue.

For registration please send an email to: n.shirzadian@cwi.nl.

In cooperation with Goethe-Institut Amsterdam.
