Two Vidi grants for CWI researchers

The Netherlands Organization for Scientific Research (NWO) has awarded a two Vidi grants to CWI researchers. This was announced by NWO on August 31. Peter Grünwald from the Quantum Computing and Advanced Systems Research group (INS4) received the grant for his research to improve statistical learning methods. Pieter Collins from the Computing and Control group (MAS2) uses his grant to develop techniques to assess the accuracy of computer approximations.

The Netherlands Organization for Scientific Research (NWO) has awarded a two Vidi grants to CWI researchers. This was announced by NWO on August 31. Peter Grünwald from the Quantum Computing and Advanced Systems Research group (INS4) received the grant for his research to improve statistical learning methods. Pieter Collins from the Computing and Control group (MAS2) uses his grant to develop techniques to assess the accuracy of computer approximations.

The Vidi program aims to give young, talented researchers an opportunity to develop their own line of research. Apart from Collins and Grünwald 77 other researchers received the grant, which amounts up to 600,000 euros. In total 271 scientists applied.
