AI High Fidelity and Surrogate Modelling for Fluids and other problems

Abstract: in this presentation we show results for two types of AI models. The first is an approach to modelling CFD using AI libraries and conventional discretisation methods and the second using AI surrogates that have the ability to model unseen situations.

We show demonstrations for fluid flow problems and radiation transport problems including urban flows, indoor flows, multi-phase flows, nuclear reactors. We also show how AI can be used for data assimilation, uncertainty quantification and control using 4DVar, novel autoencoder methods and generative methods. We also discuss the use of graph neural network in modelling.

We then discuss the future of AI in modelling.
