Course description.
The ASTRA Toolbox and the Operator Discretization Library (ODL) are powerful, open-source toolboxes that can be used to create advanced tomography algorithms. Both toolboxes can be used separately, but can also be combined, creating the ability to specify algorithms in a high-level mathematical language, while performing the internal computations with high efficiency. In this training school both toolboxes will be introduced and the ESRs will follow a series of hands-on tutorials to obtain skills in tomography algorithm development using these powerful tools.
Learning objectives:
- the basic concepts of analytic and algebraic reconstruction algorithms for tomography
- the basic concepts of the ASTRA toolbox
- how to carry out tomographic reconstructions for various imaging setups using the ASTRA toolbox
- the basic concepts of ODL
- how to implement sophisticated regularization and data-fit using ODL and ASTRA
- processing a real-world tomography dataset using the ASTRA toolbox and ODL
