UPDATE: This year’s edition of the Dutch Mathematical Congress has been canceled.

NMC 2020
will be a dynamic two-day congress with many new ingredients, such as an increased number of keynote speakers, sessions about developments that are important for mathematics, several awards, and speed dating sessions with industry.

The keynote lectures will be delivered by:

Helmut Hofer (Institute for Advanced Study, Princeton)
Assaf Naor (Princeton University)
Laure Saint-Raymond (Ecole Normale Supérieure de Lyon)
Bernd Sturmfels (Max-Planck Institute, Leipzig and University of California, Berkeley)

The Brouwer Medal will be awarded to David John Aldous (University of California, Berkeley)

The Beeger lecture will be given by David Harvey (UNSW, Sydney)

On the second day (April 15th) the traditional “Docentendag” will be replaced by the annual meeting “Onderwijs meets Onderzoek”. At this symposium, mathematics teachers and researchers in mathematics education discuss the question of what educational practice and educational research can mean for each other.

The congress further includes a conference dinner, a lively evening event, late night get together in the cozy bar and an overnight stay. There will be ample opportunity to speak to fellow mathematicians.
