Biography
Summary of career path: 2002-2010 Researcher Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam – Semantic Web 2010-2012 Assistant prof. Delft University of Technology – Web Information Systems 2012-2014 Assistant prof. Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam – Knowledge Representation and Reasoning 2014-present Tenure track researcher Information Access, CWI – Data Science for humanities and social science Laura Hollink is a recognized member of the Semantic Web community and has been active as chair of the PhD symposium (ESWC), tutor at the summer school (SSSW), and chair of the Linked Data (ESWC) and Data Science (SEMANTiCS) tracks. She has an interdisciplinary background with a PhD in Computer Science, a Master of Arts in Information Science, and a minor in Urban Sociology. She acquired funding for three interdisciplinary projects with political scientists and historians (PoliMedia, Talk of Europe, NewsGAC) and has initiated the USEWOD workshop series and a collaboration with Yahoo! Research.
