Biography
Jacco van Ossenbruggen was leading the Human-Centered Data Analytics group at Centrum Wiskunde & Informatica (CWI) in Amsterdam before Laura Hollink took over leadership of the group. As of June 2021, he was appointed full professor of Human-Centered Data Science at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. While no longer affiliated with CWI, he is still closely collaborating on several projects with HCDS. His research interests include assessment of data quality in large, heterogeneous research datasets in the digital humanities, large scale web data integration and linking in cultural heritage and other data rich domains. He is currently active as scientific director of the Civic AI and Cultural AI ICAI labs. Jacco also serves on the Management Board of the CLARIAH and ODISSEI projects, which provide the national digital research infrastructure for the humanities and social sciences, resp.
