Thaer Samar successfully defended his PhD thesis "Access to and Retrievability of Content in Web Archives" on 30 October 2017.
Promotor was former Information Access group leader Prof. dr. ir. A. P. de Vries, now at Radboud University. Samar's thesis on Web Archiving, measures how different archiving techniques and policies impact scholarly research using the web archive, and how archived documents can be used to characterize the many aspects of our online heritage that have not been archived.
Samar carried out his research while working as a scientific programmer on the NWO-funded WebART project.
