CWI researchers Chen Wang, Xintong Zhu, Thomas Roggla, and Pablo Cesar of CWI's Distributed and Interactive Systems (DIS) group were awarded a prestigious Best Paper Award at the International Conference on Physiological Computing Systems (PhyCS 2016). The conference was held on 27 and 28 July 2016 in Lisbon.

The researchers of CWI and their colleagues from Falmouth University (UK), received the award for their paper "How Are We Connected? Measuring Audience GSR Response of Connected Performance”, studying novel mechanisms for measuring the response of a remote audience to a theatre play. The paper describes a field study, comparing the response of a live and a remote audience to a theatre play.

It is the second major Best Paper Award for the DIS group this year, after the award at ACM MMSys 2016.
