On 2 April Dominique Hazaël-Massieux from the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) gave two inspiring lectures in Amsterdam on WebRTC and HTML5 Web Apps. The afternoon programme was held at Centrum Wiskunde & Informatica (CWI), the national centre for mathematics and computer science in the Netherlands, where the W3C Benelux Office is hosted. The presentations can now be viewed via the links in the text below (the first two in pdf format).
The afternoon began with a welcome on behalf of W3C Benelux and ISOC.nl, who organized the meeting at the venue of co-sponsor CWI, by Annette Kik W3C Benelux. Then Rutger Teunissen, CEO of 24sessions, held an introduction to the use of WebRTC in the innovative applications of his business. Then Dominique gave an overview of WebRTC in the first part of the afternoon programme, and in the second part he dealt with a 'deep dive' in the WebRTC technology. There was a lively discussion. In the evening program Alexander Blom ISOC.nl welcomed the visitors on behalf of ISOC, W3C Benelux and co-sponsor Waag Society at the Waag in Amsterdam. Then Dominique gave his workshop on HTML5 Apps.
