CWI researcher Paul Kint spoke on 21 April 2013 at the NEMO ‘Wakker Worden Kinderlezing’ about the creation of the first computers.

Using an abacus, a Jacquard loom, a barrel organ and the LEGO Turing machine Klint will take his young audience along into the world of computers, algorithms and programming. As a practical exercise to understand how algorithms work, the children will solve a word search problem and participate in the "bubble sort dance".

The ‘Wakker Worden Kinderlezingen’ are organized by science center NEMO and the University of Amsterdam. In this public lecture series children's questions are the central theme.
