Barry Koren appointed professor of Numerical Mathematics

On 1 March 2008 Barry Koren was appointed professor of Numerical Mathematics at Leiden University. He will combine this position with his work at CWI as head of the research group Scientific Computing and Control Theory, and temporarily still with his work as professor of Computational Fluid Dynamics at TU Delft.

On 1 March 2008 Barry Koren was appointed professor of Numerical Mathematics at Leiden University. He will combine this position with his work at CWI as head of the research group Scientific Computing and Control Theory, and temporarily still with his work as professor of Computational Fluid Dynamics at TU Delft.

The Mathematical Institute, part of the Faculty of Science, is very happy to welcome Koren to its research group Analysis. Not only is Koren an excellent numerical mathematician, he can also strengthen the already existing cooperation between Leiden, Delft and CWI.

With over 100 scientific publications and his enthusiastic and skilled training of talented PhD and MSc students Barry Koren is a valued colleague on a national and international level.
