Title: Uncertainty quantification of model inadequacy in Reynolds-average Navier-Stokes
Abstract: An introduction and overview of recent work in estimating model
inadequacy (the error in simulation resulting from modelling
assumptions) in Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes. The modelling
problem is introduced, and the key modelling assumptions are analysed.
The objective is to quantify the resulting error in the solution - and
several approaches have been proposed, all founded on principles of
uncertainty quantification. These will be discussed, and directions
for future work considered.
