The Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research( NWO) approved the appointment of prof.dr. J.N. Kok as member of the board of the Stichting Centrum voor Wiskunde en Informatica. Joost Kok (1961) is appointed as of 1 June 2005; he succeeds prof.dr. Overmars.
At the moment Joost Kok is professor in fundamental computer science at Leiden University. He heads the group Algorithms and Programmethodology of the Leiden Institute of Advanced Computer Science and is Director of Computer Science Education of this institute. Kok holds various prestigious positions in editorial and advisory boards. He worked at the Centrum voor Wiskunde en Informatica from 1986-1988.
Including prof.dr. J.N. Kok, the board of the Stichting Centrum voor Wiskunde en Informatica now exists of prof.dr. P.W. Adriaans (UvA) - chairman, prof.dr. F.A. van der Duyn Schouten (rector UvT - vice-chairman, prof.dr.ir. C.J. van Duijn (rector TU/e), and mrs. mr. S.J.M. Roelofs (director ICT~Office).
