On Thursday 16 May CWI organizes its matchmaking and networking event CWI in Business (CWI in Bedrijf 2019). Emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, smart cities and digital finance offer unprecedented opportunities. How can companies seize these chances? Speakers from the business community and researchers from CWI will show you a glimpse behind the scenes of R&D in these fields. They act as a ‘digital compass’ and will show where future opportunities lie in digital innovation. Keynote speakers are Nina Tellegen, director of the Amsterdam Economic Board, and John Baekelmans, managing director and VP of imec/Holst Centre.
They day starts at 11.00h with a welcome by CWI director Jos Baeten and Patrick Essers (EIT Digital Benelux). After the keynote speeches there will be a presentation of CWI’s valorization team in collaboration with ProRail and Engie.
During the lunch break there is a market with some of CWI’s innovative spin-off companies: Swat.engineering (helping companies take control over their software), Stokhos (saving lives by shorting response times for emergency services), Seita (enabling data-driven decisions, for, for instance, sustainable energy) and Photosynthetic (fast and innovative 3D printing). There will also be demos by BrightCape (small and big data solutions), Databricks (accelerating innovation) and EIT Digital (European innovation).
In the afternoon there will be four parallel sessions on AI, smart buildings, quantifying insecurities and blockchain. The day ends with the market and drinks, and of course the opportunity to network and explore possible collaborations with CWI and our spin-offs.
CWI in Business will take place at CWI at Amsterdam Science Park on Thursday 16 May from 10.15-16.00h. NB The programme is in Dutch.
