Title: Differential equations and variational models on graphs for clustering and classification
Abstract: In this talk we will have a look at how differential equations and variational models can help with solving problems on graphs/networks. In particular we will have a look at the graph clustering and classification problems and how those can be approached using a variational model that has its origins in materials science. We will see there are applications in image analysis and discuss theoretical questions that can be asked --- and sometimes even answered --- about such models.
