PhD defences

At CWI, we believe that combining different talents creates excellence, so we make sure to nurture and facilitate young researchers from different backgrounds. We are proud to say that many Dutch researchers in mathematics and computer science once worked at CWI in their careers.

During their 4 years of research, our PhD students work at CWI. As CWI is no university, their PhD defences take place at the university of the main supervisor, often a professor who is a researcher at CWI and who works at a university for 1 or 2 days a week. We collaborate with many Dutch universities.
