CWI Business & Society: From waiting list to progression - DOLCE VITA

Elderly care is under strain: long waiting times, overcrowded emergency departments, and a broken chain of services. The solution? Smarter organization using data and mathematical optimization.

From waiting list to progression – DOLCE VITA

Within the NWO project DOLCE VITA (‘Data-driven Optimisation for a Vital Elderly Care System’), we developed innovative logistical solutions for acute elderly care in the Amsterdam metropolitan region. By utilizing transparent data and optimizing chain processes, we can calculate the impact of decisions in advance.

Breakthroughs in the healthcare system

✅ Halving waiting times for nursing home care through better waiting list management.
✅ Better occupancy and accessibility of first-line care facilities (ELV) through smart bed management and rate optimization.
✅ Fewer emergency admissions, faster patient flow, and lower capacity pressure in the system.

Join us: Workshop on 2nd July in Amsterdam!

We will share insights from our pilot projects, discuss our findings, and explore how we can collaborate moving forward. And not just for elderly care, but also for other areas of health and social care. The workshop is aimed at healthcare professionals, decision-makers, policymakers, and care providers."
