Centrum Wiskunde & Informatica (CWI) is the national research institute for mathematics and computer science in the Netherlands. We conduct pioneering research in these fields and transfer our results to society.

Centrum Wiskunde & Informatica (CWI) announces the foundation of its new spin-off Stokhos Emergency Mathematics. Stokhos provides software solutions which enable the proactive relocation of emergency services based on predictions of future demand.

2 November 2016 marks the 100th anniversary of Adriaan van Wijngaarden (1916-1987), founder of computer science in the Netherlands. We will celebrate this with a festive soiree at Nemo Science Museum in Amsterdam, in which we will also highlight our 70th anniversary since our founding in 1946.
