Biography

Rene received his bachelor degrees in physics and mathematics from the University of Vienna. On the physics side, he focused on quantum foundations and quantum information science both theoretically and experimentally. On the mathematics side, he was interested in the general formal framework of quantum mechanics and in differential geometry. After that, Rene pursued a master degree in Mathematical and Theoretical Physics at the University of Oxford where he decided to broaden his knowledge by peeking into several fields and doing projects in cosmology and network theory. He started his PhD in January 2020 under the supervision of Harry Buhrman, participating in the Quantum Software Consortium program. He is currently researching on new quantum algorithms for secure communication and aspects of multi-party quantum interactions.
