Biography

Jasmijn Baaijens studied Mathematics at Utrecht University, where she obtained her bachelor’s degree in 2012. Looking for more applied mathematics, she followed the Industrial and Applied Mathematics master’s program at Eindhoven University of Technology, specializing in discrete mathematics. After completing the master’s program in 2014, she joined the Life Sciences and Health group of CWI as a PhD student.

Research

Jasmijn is interested graph theory, algorithms and combinatorics, and applying techniques from these fields to solve biological problems. Her PhD research in computational genomics focuses on genome assembly and haplotype reconstruction algorithms.
