on the subject of the computer-science aspects of quantum computing and quantum information theory.

Job description
This position involves research into the computer-science aspects of quantum computing and quantum information theory. Specifically, the project will focus on one or more of the following topics: quantum algorithms and complexity, quantum machine learning, quantum communication, quantum cryptography.

Depending on the most suitable topic, the research will be in collaboration with one or more of the following researchers: Jop Briët, Harry Buhrman, Peter Grünwald, Stacey Jeffery, Maris Ozols, Christian Schaffner, Michael Walter, and Ronald de Wolf. The position is on the NWO-funded QuantERA project QuantAlgo, for one or two years.

Requirements
Candidates are required to have a completed PhD in the area of computer science, mathematics, or physics. A strong track record is needed in or related to the computer-science aspects of quantum computing and quantum information theory. Needed qualifications for candidates include proven research talent and good academic writing and presentation skills. Candidates are expected to have an excellent command of English.

Terms and conditions
The terms of employment are in accordance with the Dutch Collective Labour Agreement for Research Centres ("CAO-onderzoeksinstellingen"). The gross monthly salary for an employee on a full-time basis, depending on relevant work experience, ranges from €3,409 to €4,848. Employees are also entitled to a holiday allowance of 8% of the gross annual salary and a year-end bonus of 8.33%.
