INTRANET  PORTAL  SCIENCE  COMMUNITY  ABOUT CWI

INTRODUCTION

We foresee this "Community" website containing mostly dynamic, interactive and visual content.

USERS and AUDIENCE

The primary users (and audience) of this "Community" website will probably be the "Communicatie & Information" department, pro-active staff and interested general public

The audiences it will target are potential PhD students, students, youth, general audience (non-academic) and interested scientists.

CONTENT

As can be seen in the graphic below, this will be a lively site with blogs, twitter, facebook, wikis, youtube clips, audio, tag clouds, rss, linkedin,  digg, delicious and any other content its users deem appropriate.

As part of our online video toolkit, we'll be using Vimeo Plus.

Some of this content will be "individually generated" and/or "cwi generated". In other words, we will enable links to individual blogs/tweets but will also encourage a CWI-wide ("corporate") feed as well.

NOTES

In order for video (youtube) content to be consistently CWI branded and professional looking, we will make use of occasional (outsourced) professional editing services.

We envision this "Community" site having an occasional 1 page executive summaries and not 30 page reports. Those will belong in the "About CWI" (Corporate/PR) website. And when relevant, in the "Science" site.

The pHd students and scientists shown on the homepage will be dynamically generated. This will allow the visitor to see a new group of phd students and scientists (and their information) every time they visit the site.
