To create an event, start by logging into intranet and clicking add content in the very top menubar or use http://www.cwi.nl/node/add/event . You will now get a page similar to this:
Depending on your authorization some of the fields shown above might not be available. If you nevertheless think you need them, contact the email@example.com
The title of the page. The title will be used to generate the URL of the page, which will be something like http://www.cwi.nl/events/[title without spaces or capitals].
If you check Yes here, this event will be listed in the CWI in-house events on http://www.cwi.nl/events/inhouse The event will allways be listed in the future-events page on http://www.cwi.nl/events , provided the event date is in the future.
Event date: from date / to date
Speaks for itself. If the event is only one day, fill out the same date in from date and to date. Dependent on this date, the event will be listed in future events or past events ( http://www.cwi.nl/past-events )
If you want your event to get special attention, you can ask the Communication Department (via the webmaster) to make it sticky. It will then appear at the top of the event list, until the event date has expired. You cannot make an event sticky yourself.
Where the event is taking place.
The URL of the website that holds more background information on the event. This URL will be presented as a link.
If you need a webspace to put presentations or papers to download, you can make a public page in the CWI website. If you want the information to be accessible to CWI outsiders but not to the whole world, contact the ITF technical webmaster (see http://www.cwi.nl/people/supporters/itf ) for a webspace on the http://event.cwi.nl server.
The other fields in this form are ‘regular’ fields for any content type. Please refer to http://www.cwi.nl/intranet/how-create-or-change-webpage for more information on these fields.
If you are trying this for the first time and it doesn’t behave as expected, please contact the webmaster by mail ( firstname.lastname@example.org ) or phone (4020). The webmaster is there to help you out in these cases. Don’t hesitate or be shy, you don’t want to spend much time on these things.
