1 Overall status

CWI has driven the task leader coordination: Workplan organization, clarification of each partner's contribution.
Future collaboration to this task was specified on previous meetings.
  - QMUL will collaborate by designing a stand-alone system for image classification and relevance feedback for image retrieval.   
  - GU will develop models and interaction styles to make use of semanticc features for retrieval. Currently their model is based on user interaction and is looking forward to extend it with semantic annotation.
  - INA has provided samples of real-world semantic audiovisual queries, currently translated by INA and CWI
  - DCU will work on a use-case on semantics-based interaction with multimedia

CWI has drafted a use case for semantic multimedia presentation: "Features for layout design". The use case is: A user searches on a particular topic or concept and a presentation is created using a number of the search results.  The focus here is on how images can be included in the presentation in an aesthetically pleasing way without interfering with the message in the presentation.
