Institute for Mathematics and its Applications

CWI is one of the participating organisations in the Institute for Mathematics and its Applications (IMA), a Minneapolis based institute promoting the use of mathematics in other fields both in academia and in industry. IMA activities open to CWI staff include seminars, workshops, courses, visitor programmes and theme years.

The current theme - running during the academic year 2003/2004 - is Probability and Statistics in Complex Systems with special focus on genomics, networks, and financial engineering.

The graduate student summer program of 2004 will be devoted to coding and cryptography.

Additionally, IMA organises a series of hot topics workshops and seminars on industrial problems.

To participate in any of the above activities, fill out a registration form. There is no registration fee. To obtain reimbursement of expenses, please fill out the appropriate application section on the form.
