The setup has varied. The 2nd and 3rd editions were team tournaments. The 1st, 4th, 5th were personal tournaments. In 2022 the "Go Masters" part of the name was changed into "Go Youth Masters" and players were required to be below 20.
The rules are Chinese, komi is 7.5. Each player has 1 hour, plus three times one minute.
