Chunlan Cup

The Chunlan Cup (春兰杯) is a Go world championship started in 1998, with a best-of-three final. The rules are Chinese. The time limit was 3h in the first eleven editions, and 2.5h afterwards. Komi was 5.5 in the first three editions, 7.5 afterwards.

The main tournament has 24 participants: the #1, #2, #3 from the previous edition, 8 from China, 5 from Japan, 4 from Korea, 2 from Taiwan, 1 from North America, and 1 from Europe. (For the 1st edition, 9 from China, 6 from Japan, 5 from Korea.) Since the 13th edition there is no longer a 3rd Place Playoff.
