Random graphs and discrete geometric structures
01.11.2009

This project is aimed at understanding random geometric graphs and various kinds of discrete
geometric objects better, such as hyperplane arrangements and polyhedra.
Besides the asymptotic behaviour of randomly generated instances of these objects, we also study enumeration and computational and structural aspects.

The project started in November 2009 and is carried out under Tobias Müller's VENI grant. For more details about the research, including preprints, consult...

Semidefinite Programming and Combinatorial Optimization
01.01.2003

Project code: SPCO
Research group: Algorithms, Combinatorics and Optimization (PNA1)

Coordinator of this project: Monique Laurent

Research in this project focuses on the interplay between semidefinite programming and combinatorial optimization. One of the main objectives is the design of strong and efficient approximations to hard problems, such as combinatorial optimization...

Towards an Imperative Constraint Programming Language

Project code: ALMA
Research group: Algorithms, Combinatorics and Optimization (PNA1)

Coordinator of this project: Krzysztof Apt.

Alma project aims at a realization of a strongly typed constraint programming language that combines the advantages of logic and...
