Research

My research area is Scientific Computing; for the last 10 years focused on mathematical problems in the life sciences, in particular systems biology and medicine. The mathematical research includes multiscale modelling, analytical and numerical topics (diffusion-reaction systems at the macroscopic and mesoscopic level, stochastic processes and queues, DAE/PDE/DDE systems), and parameter estimation (parameter identification, model discrimination and optimal experimental design).
