Research
My research is on sensor networks and the data that is produced by such networks. I investigate how this data can be handled efficiently and I look for (new?) practical uses of the data.
The activities in my project are a combination of both mathematics and computer science. Interestingly, the project is not purely research oriented. There are several industrial partners in the project and end-users also play an important role. The focus will initially be on the end-user point of view, but as the project continues I will look more at the larger picture ('what if in ten years...') and consider some research-oriented questions.
It is expected that the project will use various elements from mathematics and computer science: statistics, information theory, data mining, software engineering and web services.
