Research
My research interests are mainly in stochastic processes and stochastic operations research. The research topics that interest me most tend to be problems that arise in practical situations, such as manufacturing, call centres, and healthcare, but which lead to the analysis of non-traditional stochastic models.
In practice, these models are usually applicable in a wide range of situations, as they describe generic service policies. I have successfully worked on the modelling and analysis of several different applications, including healthcare logistics, warehouse systems used in warehousing, and traffic control.
Recently I have expanded my work to studies in economics and healthcare policies (transmission models of infectious diseases) where techniques of stochastic operations research can be applied. In addition, I have been working on core topics such as large deviations analysis, Lévy processes and non-standard stochastic recursions.
