Research
Sindo Nunez Queija's main research interests are in stochastic operations research, in particular queueing theory, and applications in the performance analysis of computer communication systems. In the recent past he has worked on (1) stability criteria and optimization for bandwidth sharing network in the context of the PhD dissertation of I.M. Verloop, (2) scaling techniques for multidimensional random Markov processes to investigate the interaction of multiclass communication systems (with M.T.S. Jonkheere and B.J. Prabhu), (3) scalability and efficiency of distributed file sharing systems (with B.J. Prabhu), (4) heavy-traffic scaling for asymmetric fair sharing (discriminatory processor sharing; with I.M. Verloop and U. Ayesta), and (5) analysis of queues with fluctuating and temporary unstable load conditions.
