Research

I have been working on the extraction and characterization of dynamic textures in video. Dynamic Textures are the extension of spatial textures to the temporal domain. Dynamic texture phenomena can be observed all around us in daily life, e.g. moving trees in the wind, rippling water, fluttering sails and flags, or moving crowds of people in a shopping street. As part of our research we have set up DynTex, an open-access benchmarking database of dynamic textures.
