Norm Walsh is a Lead Engineer at MarkLogic Corporation where he works with the Application Services team. Norm is also an active participant in a number of standards efforts worldwide: at the W3C, he is chair of the XML Processing Model Working Group, co-chair of the XML Core Working Group, and an active member of the XSLT Working Group. At OASIS, he is chair of the DocBook Technical Committee. With more than a 15 years of industry experience, Norm is well known for his work on DocBook and a wide range of open source projects. He is the author of DocBook 5: The Definitive Guide.
Steven Pemberton is a researcher at CWI in Amsterdam. He has been involved with the Web from the beginning, organising workshops at the first web conference in 1994. He has chaired several workgroups at the W3C, and is co-author of many web technologies, including HTML, XHTML, CSS, XForms and RDFa.
November 5th is the pre-conference day and will be a day dedicated to XForms and its applications. XForms is an XML-based technology for defining applications on and off the web. Its declarative basis means that applications can be created in a fraction of the time needed for traditional programming-based approaches. The talks will include an overview, a tutorial, presentations from two implementations, talks on automatic generation and testing, comparison with HTML5, and a case study of a government application of XForms. The entry fee for the pre-conference has been lowered substantially, thanks to CWI and W3C providing the venue. The room for the pre-conference day has limited space, so please register soon.

XForms Day 2015
5 November 2015, CWI, Amsterdam
Note: subject to change
XForms is a language for handling XML-based data, and has been used in a surprisingly broad range of applications, from Government websites, to meteorological departments, in submarines, banks, ship-building, content-management systems, and has even been used to drive a range of copiers.
XForms Day 2015 will present an overview of the language including a peek at what is coming in XForms 2.0, give a brief tutorial, and have presentations on implementations, use cases and topics such as forms generation and testing.
