Never is a long time
Steven Pemberton (W3C) talks about web technology during the Freelance Friday of the Freelance Factory.
Pemberton's talk is titled 'Never is a long time: Disruptive technologies and the Web'. The term 'disruptive technology’'is used for innovations that strongly change a product or service and make them better, such that it becomes a threat to the market. An example is the introduction of the digital camera, making analogue cameras obsolete. Pemberton calls the web 'disruptive technology', but what about the disruptive technologies developed inside the Web?
Pemberton's talk will discuss how to identify potentially disruptive technologies. He gives some web examples. Are there disruptive webtechnologies? Will they replace existing technologies?
