Macroscopic and large scale phenomena: coarse graining, mean field limits and ergodicit
NDNS+ Applied Dynamical Systems Summer School 2012
Macroscopic and large scale phenomena:
coarse graining, mean field limits and ergodicity
Following the successful 2010 winter school held at Universiteit Twente, this NDNS+
summer school concerns large scale phenomena and reductions in
dynamical systems. The topics covered within this broad area are ergodic
theory (an introduction by Verbitskiy), mean field limits (Golse) and
dynamic aspects of gamma-convergence (Mielke & Scardia). Check the
links below for more details. The lectures will be complemented by
guided problem sessions.
Speakers
- François Golse On the Dynamics of Large
Particle Systems in the Mean Field Limit
(École Polytechnique, Paris) - Alexander Mielke Multiscale modeling for
evolutionary systems via Gamma convergence
(Weierstrass Institute for Applied Analysis and Stochastics, Humboldt University Berlin) - Lucia Scardia Discrete-to-continuum
upscaling and applications to dislocation theory
(Technical University Eindhoven) - Evgeny Verbitskiy Ergodic Theory and
