Paul Klint is head of the software engineering department at Centrum Wiskunde & Informatica (CWI) and leader of the research group Interactive Software Development and Renovation (SEN1). He is project leader of the projects Software Technology & Engineering en Software Technology.
He is full professor in computer science at the University of Amsterdam where he directs the master program on Software Engineering. He is also visiting professor at University of London (Royal Holloway).
His research interests include generic programming language technology, domain-specific languages, analysis and renovation of software, open source development. He is an active opinion leader on intellectual property rights (IPR) on software and technology transfer.
He is Treasurer of the European Association for Programming Languages and Systems (EAPLS) and co-founder of the Software Improvement Group (SIG), a CWI spin off company en winner of the ICT Regie Award 2008. Until April 2008 he was chair of the Dutch national advisory board on Computer Science. He is editor of Science of Computer Programming.
Paul Klint coached more then 30 PhD students.
