W3C Benelux Office at CWI

W3C Benelux Office logo W3C is the World Wide Web Consortium, which leads the World Wide Web to its full potential by developing protocols and guidelines that ensure the long-term growth of the Web.

Since January 1998 CWI has been hosting the regional node for W3C activities in the Netherlands, and from May 2002 also for the W3C activities in Belgium and Luxembourg: the W3C Benelux Office. The task of this office is to locally disseminate W3C standards and to recruit new member organizations to help W3C achieving its mission. Together with ISOC.nl the W3C Benelux Office organizes masterclasses on new standards with W3C experts.

For more information on W3C Membership, developing web standards and W3C activities, see www.w3c.nl .

For more information on CWI's own role in research on web standards, see http://www.cwi.nl/sharing-knowledge/w3c-standards

The W3C Benelux Office issues a newsletter (in Dutch), in order to spread the newest results of the standards through the regional web community. Subscription is free. Interested? See http://www.w3c.nl/nieuwsbrieven for an overview of newsletters.
