12 December in Labyrint: How good are we at math?

Tue, 11/12/2012 - 13:17

Wednesday December 12 the results of Dutch National Numeracy Survey – 'het Groot Nationaal Rekenonderzoek' will be announced on TV in the program Labyrint.  A major outcome of the study is that in math, people come in four different types: haters, enthusiasts, pragmatists and the careful ones.

For the project Wetenschap 24 (VPRO/NTR) teamed up with the national science council in the Netherlands NWO, Centrum Wiskunde & Informatica (CWI) in Amsterdam, Leiden University, the University of Amsterdam and Utrecht University.

The program will be aired at 20:50, Nederland 2. Immediately after broadcasting the public is invited to talk to the
scientists that carried out the survey.
