Project code: AMBULANT
Research group: Distributed Multimedia Languages and Infrastructures (SEN5)

Project coordinator: Dick Bulterman

The AMBULANT project studies various aspects of multimedia presentation and modelling. The goal of the project is to gain a better understanding of the tools and techniques required to store, transmit and present time-sensitive media over multiple platforms, using multiple protocols, across a diverse (but converging!) network infrastructure. The project is currently divided into two sub-projects: the AMBULANT Player project, which is developing an open-source SMIL 2.0 player, and the AMBULANT Annotator, which is developing tools for annotating and sharing multimedia information in the medical domain.
